Continence Management Program

Continence Management

NAHCA-approved in support of Medline’s skin health initiative

Proper continence care takes more than quality products. It takes a comprehensive program designed to help maintain resident comfort and improve outcomes. Go beyond briefs with Medline Continence Management Program.

Education and Support

Educating and supporting your staff is a top priority for Medline. When you sign up with the Continence Management Program, you’ll receive:

  • Educational courses through Medline University® that will standardize practice among your staff on the basics.
  • Ensure your staff knows how to correctly assess residents, use products and follow procedures.
  • On-board new employees so they can quickly learn correct continence management care tips and techniques.
  • Additional training to achieve the very best results with Medline products through moisture management, proper product selection and management strategies for various types of incontinence.

Continence Management Program Toolkit

Your facility will receive a Continence Management Toolkit, which includes:

  • A full complement of sizing tools
  • Educational posters to distribute to staff

Pick the Right Products

The FitRight® Assessment Tool has been designed to help caregivers determine which type of disposable incontinence management product is needed for each individual resident. Once an assessment is completed, caregivers will know the following:

  • The best product to use for that patient
  • The correct size
  • Level of absorbency required to manage output
  • How much product will be needed each week/month

Without a product that fits right, a culture has developed where residents are placed in larger briefs to accommodate bigger thighs. This creates problems: leakage, odor, compromised skin integrity, discomfort, loss of confidence, and escalating costs.
