Optiva® Gentle Dressing

Optiva® Gentle

Super Absorbent Foam Dressing with Silicone Adhesive Border

Optiva® Gentle

Featuring Silitac™ Adhesive

Dressing changes can be painful for the patient and traumatic to the skin, but not with Optiva Gentle. This new, super-absorbent foam dressing features our unique Silitac™ adhesive on the border. This silicone adhesive keeps the dressing in place, but also allows you to reposition and remove it without harming the skin surrounding the wound.

Gentle on Patients

Gentle on Patients

Gently absorbs. The super absorbent polymer core efficiently absorbs high volumes of harmful exudate, locking it into the core to protect against maceration.

Gently retains. Inside the core, exudate is converted to a gel that’s kept away from the wound, even under compression.

Gently adjusts. The core continually adapts the absorption level to match the amount of wound drainage, creating an optimal, moist wound healing environment.

Gently protects. Two layers of foam combined with the gelling core help cushion the wound.

Gently adheres. Silitac adhesive border and a non-adherent foam wound contact layer are gentle on the skin.

Liquitrap™ Core Locks in Exudate

Liquitrap™ Core Locks in Exudate

Most foam dressings act like a sponge, absorbing a lot of fluid. The problem is, just like a sponge, the fluid can leak out if pressure is applied. When fluid pools on or around the wound and periwound area, it can lead to maceration. Optiva dressings change all that with the Liquitrap super absorbent core. Exudate is vertically wicked into the core. In a matter of minutes, the harmful exudate is converted into a gel, and locked away from the wound. All this, while providing an optimal moist wound healing environment.

Absorbs More

Absorbs More

Optiva absorbed over 20 percent more fluid than a leading silicone faced foam dressing.1

Retains More

Retains More

Optiva retained twice as much fluid under compression than a leading silicone faced foam dressing.2
