Medline and Medic Management Group Launch New GPO Distribution Partnership
Nearly 3,000 physicians to receive meaningful cost savings on essential medical supplies
Mundelein, Ill., June 27, 2016 – In this complex healthcare environment, physicians face many challenges that impact their bottom line. Recent data indicates there has been a 12 percent increase in spending on total operating costs per full-time-equivalent physicians since 2010. To help physicians reduce costs on essential medical supplies, Medic Management Group, a leading provider of customized practice management and operational services for private practice, hospital-employed and affiliated physicians, awarded Medline a new distribution partnership that is expected to deliver savings of at least eight percent to more than 3,000 physicians nationwide.
The new agreement offers Medic Management Group’s clients negotiated pricing on a comprehensive portfolio of products. Additionally, they receive access to Medline INSIGHT, an online tool that helps healthcare providers understand general and specific information about purchases, usage, pricing, orders and shipment status.
“We are focused on offering our physician clients with the right mix of services and professional expertise that address their unique needs,” said Jeffrey Bushong, director at Medic Management Group. “With a partner like Medline who is committed to product innovation and quality customer service, our clients will be able to reduce costs while driving efficiencies and improving clinical outcomes.”
To help Medic Management Group’s clients receive their products when and where they need them, more than 40 Medline distribution centers are located in every major metropolitan area across the country. In addition, the company has its own fleet of more than 450 trucks.
“Medline and Medic Management Group share very similar goals to provide healthcare professionals with solutions that help them perform at their very best,” said Kristy Oltroggee, vice president, physician office corporate accounts, Medline. “We are dedicated to providing direct product savings and industry expertise to help their clients improve efficiencies and patient outcomes.”
The contract is in effect through February 28, 2019.
