Unique Gloves Give EMT’s Protection and Performance When Seconds Count
Medline to donate portion of sales to National Fallen Firefighters Foundation
Mundelein, Ill., April 21, 2016 – Car crashes, natural disasters, and acts of violence will continue to create demand for the quick reaction and competent care provided by emergency medical personnel. More than 241,200 EMTs and Paramedics make up this distinguished group and each day, we depend on these individuals to save lives. While many use hospital-grade exam gloves, having the right kind of gloves designed to stand-up to the rigors of the field is critical to protect patients and personnel. Today, leading exam glove maker Medline is unveiling a new solution specifically designed based on first responder feedback.
The highly visible, bright orange Critical ResponseTM glove is designed to allow for greater sensitivity in the fingers and is considerably thicker than traditional gloves in the palm and cuff. This makes it easier to work with things like sweat, blood, mud and other elements. In addition, the glove is approved by the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) and exceeds the FDA requirements for pinhole deficiencies (AQL 0.65) which contributes to the higher quality, strength, barrier integrity and durability of the glove and helps EMTs stay protected in the field.
“When it comes to those who care for patients, we are committed to helping them perform at their very best. Working in the field is very different than an exam room or doctor’s office and that’s why we created this new glove with the first responder in mind,” says Paul Lishnevsky, exam gloves division president, Medline.

Supporting the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation
Emergency medical technicians, firefighters, and other first-responders share a lifestyle that is dedicated to ensuring the safety of others. They perform high-risk, demanding tasks, sometimes even sacrificing their own safety. Through a partnership with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, Medline will donate $0.50 for every case of Critical Response™ sold through the end of September to help honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities and neighborhoods.
“The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) is very pleased to have this new partnership with Medline and appreciate their support of the Foundation’s mission,” says Chief Ron Siarnicki, executive director of the NFFF. “Medline’s generous donation will help us provide assistance to the survivors of the fallen and resources to the fire service.”
“Medline is proud to partner with the NFFF and to do our part to honor and support these brave heroes and their families,” adds Lishnevsky.
