Medline Secures Exclusive Distribution Partnership with OSF HealthCare in $250 Million Prime Vendor Deal
Medical supplier chosen for supply chain expertise, breadth of 350,000 products, and personalized customer service
Mundelein, Ill., Sept. 15, 2015 – OSF HealthCare, an integrated health system based in Peoria, Ill. serving patients throughout the state of Illinois and Michigan, recently selected Medline as its exclusive distribution partner as part of a $250 million prime vendor agreement. OSF HealthCare’s extensive network consists of 11 acute care facilities and two colleges of nursing. It also has a primary care physician network consisting of over 600 primary care, specialist physicians, and advanced practice providers.
Through this five-year agreement, leading medical supplier Medline will provide OSF HealthCare entities with an extensive portfolio of essential medical supplies and solutions that will better position the system to streamline supply chain operations and simultaneously manage costs. By utilizing Medline’s online reporting tool called Medline INSIGHT, OSF HealthCare will have the ability to easily monitor key metrics such as item utilization, contract compliance, price accuracy and spend by product categories.

The relationship between Medline and OSF HealthCare began more than a year ago when the system started purchasing Medline manufactured products from the company and later signed agreements for Medline to service their physician offices and home care services. Because of Medline’s extensive industry experience, logistics capabilities, and personalized customer service, the medical supplier was presented with the opportunity to form an exclusive distribution relationship and broaden its offerings to additional OSF HealthCare facilities.
