Medline Celebrates 20th Anniversary of the American Heart Association^® Heart Walk^® by Joining 20,000 Walkers in Fight Against Heart Disease and Stroke

Mundelein, Ill., Sept. 29, 2014 – This past weekend, Medline Industries, Inc. employees and families proudly joined over 20,000 walkers for the American Heart Association’s Metro Chicago Heart Walk to help prevent and reduce cardiovascular disease and stroke. This is the association’s signature fundraising event, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Cardiovascular disease currently affects 1 in 3 Americans and every 34 seconds, someone suffers a heart attack. Walkers, survivors, companies and community members began walking at sites Sept. 20 in south suburban Palos Hills. The association’s largest walk for the metro area, Chicago’s Grant Park, was held this past Friday. Walks continued in west suburban Oak Brook Saturday, followed by Lake Forest on Sunday.
