Valley Health System Selects Medline as Prime Vendor Distributor for Medical and Surgical Products
Medline delivers savings ‘in a time when all healthcare organizations are facing stiff economic challenges’
MUNDELEIN, Ill., June 2, 2014 — Valley Health System, a regional healthcare system that serves residents in northern New Jersey and southern New York, recently selected Medline Industries, Inc. as its prime vendor distribution partner for medical and surgical supplies. The three-year partnership will deliver an estimated savings in excess of $1 million by driving distribution, product and supply chain efficiencies. This agreement is expected to be valued at approximately $30 million in supply chain and related spend over the term of the agreement.

Medline will deliver cost savings and efficiencies by providing cost-effective product choices, product standardization and utilization solutions, as well as enhanced reporting capabilities to help the facility better monitor and control costs. The company will provide a broad assortment of its Medline brand products, as well as other national brand supplies at significant savings directly to Valley Health System from its Middletown, N.Y. distribution center. Overall, Medline has more than 40 distribution centers strategically located throughout the United States.
