Palos Community Hospital New Prime Vendor Agreement with Medline to Deliver Significant Savings
Medline’s supply chain capabilities, quality products and cost saving opportunities set company apart
MUNDELEIN, Ill., June 11, 2014 — Palos Community Hospital, a 428-bed regional healthcare system that serves residents in Chicago’s southwest suburbs, recently selected Medline Industries, Inc. as its exclusive prime vendor distribution partner for medical and surgical supplies. The five-year partnership will deliver significant savings by driving distribution and supply chain efficiencies and reduced product cost. The agreement is expected to be worth approximately $38 million over the course of the deal.
“Medline’s model of distributing direct from their manufacturing facilities combined with their outstanding service and support will not only make our supply chain more efficient, but will also help reduce our supply budget,” said Becky Anuskiewicz, director of materials management for Palos Community Hospital.
Medline will provide a broad array of its Medline brand products, as well as other national brand supplies at significant savings directly to Palos Community Hospital from its Libertyville, Ill. distribution center. Medline will also deliver cost savings and efficiencies to the hospital by implementing product standardization and utilization solutions, as well as providing enhanced reporting capabilities to help the health system better monitor and control costs.
