The Medline Foundation Donates $25,000 to the Illinois Tornado Relief Effort Bringing Aid to Everyone Affected

MUNDELEIN, Ill., Nov. 26, 2013 — The Medline Foundation, the philanthropic division of Medline Industries, Inc., based in Mundelein, Ill., today announced that it is donating $25,000 through a partnership with the McCormick Foundation, WGN-AM radio, the Chicago Tribune and WGN-TV to the newly established Illinois Tornado Relief Effort to assist the victims of the tornadoes in Washington and central Illinois.

Separately, Medline’s Illinois-based employees are also raising additional donations for the Illinois Tornado Relief Effort and so far have contributed more than $1,800.

“The thoughts and prayers of the entire Medline family go out to all those suffering through the tragic consequences of the recent tornadoes in central Illinois,” said Andy Mills, president of Medline. “As an Illinois-based company, we believe strongly in supporting our local communities and look forward to the recovery of the devastated areas and the continued health of its families.”

The Illinois Tornado Relief Effort, a campaign of the McCormick Foundation, will support nonprofit agencies providing disaster relief and recovery efforts to those communities hit hardest by the tornadoes. Medline and The Medline Foundation are also providing assistance for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines that occurred earlier this month in which the company is donating $50,000 in medical supplies, as well as $25,000 to support disaster relief efforts.
