Medline Partners with Cygnus Medical to Enhance Infection Control Efforts with Innovative Endoscopic Cleaning Equipment
Medline to distribute Cygnus Medical’s endoscopic care and handling products
Medline Industries, Inc., the nation's largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of medical and surgical supplies, announced today an exclusive partnership with Cygnus Medical to include its care and handling products for endoscopic instruments in Medline’s procedure packs.
"This partnership with Cygnus Medical is important because proper cleaning and caring of endoscopic instruments is essential to protecting the safety of the patient,” said Dante Tisci, president of Dynacor, Medline’s manufacturing and procedure kit division. "Removing visible bioburden from instruments immediately after the procedure is a crucial part of a highly effective infection control practice and will help ensure the instruments are free of pathogens and in good working order after reprocessing."
Products in the agreement include:
- First Step™ Bedside Kits – Includes a stand up pouch with enzymatic detergent and hand pad for immediate post procedure cleaning at the bedside.
- Caterpillar™ Brush – The first channel brush designed to pull through the scope channels without buckling, which increases cleaning efficiency.
- Oasis™ Scope Transport Tray – Made of 100 percent recycled paper pulp, this disposable rigid scope transport container protects the scope during transport to and from the procedure room.
