Medline Recognized for Outstanding Contributions to Environmentally Responsible Care

Practice Greenhealth Champion for Change Award Recognizes Environmental Stewardship and Protecting Public Health

Practice Greenhealth awarded Medline Industries, Inc., the nation's largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of health care and surgical supplies, the 2013 Practice Greenhealth Champion for Change Award for outstanding contributions to environmentally responsible health care.

“We are delighted to receive this award for the second consecutive year,” said Francesca Olivier, corporate sustainability manager. “Medline understands the effect our environment has on human health, and through our greensmart® program, we are committed to being an industry leader that provides products that are eco-friendly and cost effective while conserving valuable resources.”

Practice Greenhealth's Champion for Change Award recognizes businesses and organizations that demonstrate successful accomplishments in 'greening' their own organization and help their health care customers improve their environmental performance. Medline was honored by Practice Greenhealth at the Environmental Excellence Awards held last week in Boston in conjunction with CleanMed, a global conference on environmentally sustainable health care. Medline is a member of Practice Greenhealth and has an active role in its “Greening the OR” initiative.
